Every home is different. Your furnace installation Ajax quote reflects:
System style (two-stage vs. modulating) and brand tier
Venting route, gas line upgrades, transitions/plenum work
Duct condition, return air, and balancing needs
Add-ons (humidifier, filtration, HRV/ERV, smart thermostat)
Site specifics (access, headroom, drain options)
We show a good / better / best breakdown with total installed price and optional monthly payments.
A three-level townhome near Kingston Rd runs hot upstairs and chilly on the main floor. We:
Right-size the new furnace (Manual-J),
Add a proper return on the main,
Install a two-stage, variable-speed unit,
Set fan profiles to slow/quiet circulation.
Result: Even temps, fewer starts/stops, and noticeably lower noise.
8:00–9:00 AM — Arrival & Protection
Floor runners down, job brief, safety checks, utilities off.
Morning — Removal & Prep
Old furnace out, venting/gas/electrical reviewed; plenum/transition fabricated if needed.
Midday — Set, Pipe, Wire
New furnace placed, gas line verified, intake/exhaust routed, condensate trapped & pumped to an approved drain.
Afternoon — Commissioning
Temperature-rise, airflow/ESP, gas pressure, ignition/safety controls, and CO checks. Smart thermostat setup if included.
Wrap-Up — Walkthrough
Filter sizes, maintenance intervals, warranty registration, and TLC tips. Clean site—like we were never there.
Right-size or we make it right. If the system is not matched to your home, we fix it.
No mess, no surprises. Written scope + fixed installed price.
Documented startup. You receive a commissioning checklist with all readings.
Priority aftercare. Tune-ups, reminders, and quick winter support.

Yes—we follow manufacturer specs and Ontario code and guide you where permits/inspections apply.
Often. High-efficiency furnaces typically use dedicated intake and exhaust; we evaluate vent routing and clearances on site.
It can. We measure external static pressure and choose a filter strategy that protects airflow—and your heat exchanger.
We don’t use “BTU per sq. ft.” rules of thumb. We perform a Manual-J heat-loss calculation that factors insulation levels, window/door U-values, air leakage, exposures, and duct design. Proper sizing prevents short-cycling, improves comfort, and protects the heat exchanger. For furnace installation Greater Toronto and furnace installation Toronto, we also confirm duct capacity so airflow (CFM) matches the selected furnace/coil.
ESP is the resistance your blower must push air against (measured in inches w.c.). High ESP from restrictive filters, undersized ducts, or a dirty coil reduces airflow, raises noise, and can overheat the heat exchanger. On install day we measure ESP with a manometer, target manufacturer-specified ranges, and correct issues (filter media, transitions, duct mods) to restore designed CFM.
Usually yes. 90%+ AFUE condensing furnaces use PVC/CPVC/PP venting with a dedicated combustion air intake. The condensate must be trapped and drained to an approved location (often with a condensate pump) and, where required, passed through a neutralizer before discharge. Vent terminations must meet clearance rules and be pitched correctly to prevent freezing and backflow.
A proper startup includes: temperature-rise verification, gas manifold pressure set-up, combustion analysis/CO check, ESP/airflow measurements, safety controls test (limit, pressure switch), flame sensor microamp check, thermostat calibration, and a written commissioning report. We perform and document all of the above on every furnace installation Toronto & GTA project.
