Description
Lennox HCWHD — Whole-home dehumidification for comfort, health, and efficiency
The Healthy Climate® Whole-Home Dehumidifier (HCWHD) integrates with your central HVAC to quietly remove excess moisture from the air—no portable buckets or noisy stand-alone units. With 80, 100, or 130 pints/day capacities, it helps control stickiness, musty odours, and mould risk while protecting finishes and improving comfort at higher thermostat setpoints.
Why homeowners choose HCWHD
- High capacity: three sizes handling up to 80/100/130 pints per day for whole-home coverage.
- Energy leader: ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient 2024 recognition.
- Future-ready: R-454B refrigerant to meet 2025 low-GWP regulations.
- Smarter IAQ: built-in digital ventilation control (fresh-air timing) and zoned dehumidification capability on select sizes.
- Quiet, integrated install: ties into your ductwork so you avoid portable-unit noise and maintenance.
- No ozone produced: humidity control without adding lung-irritating ozone.
- Low upkeep: washable filter with 6-month cleaning reminders; easy drain service access.
How it works
A dedicated blower pulls return air through a filter and over a sealed refrigeration coil kept below the dew point; moisture condenses into the drain pan and exits via a 3/4″ drain. Air is then reheated and sent back into the supply, leaving spaces warmer and drier. The control samples room air and runs the compressor only when RH is above your setpoint (typical starting point: 55–59% RH).
Controls & integration
- Front-panel user interface with humidity setpoint and service reminders.
- Compatible with Lennox Smart, iComfort®, and ComfortSense® thermostats for whole-home dehumidification control.
- Optional Y6456 remote control for crawl-space or mechanical-room installs.
- Built-in fresh-air ventilation timer (0–60 min/hr) to meet local code or fresh-air goals.
Maintenance (Toronto schedule)
- Every 6 months: rinse and reinstall the washable filter; check and clean the drain and insert (where applicable).
- Annually: inspect the drain line for buildup; verify slope and trap; test operation and sampling sequence.

Energy-saving tip
Because dry air feels cooler, you can often raise your cooling setpoint by about 2°F and still feel comfortable—saving roughly 5–7% on cooling costs.
